Shure QLXD14/83 Digital Wireless Lavalier Microphone System: Professional Audio for Dynamic Presentations

Versatile Application: The Shure QLXD14/83 rackmount digital wireless lavalier microphone system is designed for instructors, presenters, and broadcasters who demand professional-quality audio. Its rugged construction and ease of use make it suitable for TV broadcast, sound reinforcement in medium-sized venues, houses of worship, conference facilities, educational institutions, and corporate setups.

Advanced Digital Audio Technology: Operating in the UHF band, the QLXD14/83 transmits pristine 24-bit/48 kHz digital audio, ensuring clarity, accurate low-end reproduction, and crisp transient response. The Digital Predictive Switching Diversity protects against interference, providing solid RF signal stability without compromising audio quality.

Omnidirectional Lavalier Microphone: The system includes the WL183 omnidirectional lavalier microphone, optimized for speech intelligibility. Its omnidirectional polar pattern picks up sound evenly from all directions, allowing for flexible mic positioning. The microphone plugs into the locking TA4M connection on the compact QLXD1 bodypack transmitter.

Rugged Bodypack Transmitter: The QLXD1 bodypack transmitter is constructed with a rugged, all-metal design, featuring a backlit LCD that displays essential information. The transmitter is equipped with adjustable input sensitivity to accommodate various speaking styles and mic levels, including instrument-level audio. It can be locked out to prevent accidental changes during performances, syncing to the receiver via infrared with a quick press on the Sync button.

Digital Switching Diversity Reception: Operating in the G50: 470 to 534 MHz UHF band, the system boasts a 64 MHz tuning range and 2560 selectable frequencies. The Digital Predictive Switching Diversity uses a microprocessor to switch antennas before dropouts occur. Two detachable 1/2 wave dipole antennas are included for enhanced signal reception.

Intelligent Setup and Monitoring: The receiver, QLXD4, offers intelligent features for setup, monitoring, and control. Its scanning function automatically finds and deploys clean frequencies to transmitters via IR sync. The receiver provides up to 60 dB of adjustable gain with an internal limiter to prevent digital clipping. Intuitive front-panel controls with audio and RF LED meters, as well as a peak indicator, enable quick visual checks.

Smart Power Management: The system incorporates smart power management options, including the use of the SB900A lithium-ion rechargeable battery with SBC charger (both available separately). The remaining battery life can be metered in hours and minutes from the receiver's front panel.

Enhanced Reliability: Adding UA874 active antennas or PA805 passive antennas can increase the range of the system and offer increased protection against interference. The UA844+SWB antenna distribution system (available separately) expands antenna pairs, providing more on-air channels in less setup time.

Variety of Options: Shure offers a range of lavalier, headset, and handheld microphone options to adapt the QLX-D system to evolving needs. The WL185 (cardioid) and WL184 (supercardioid) lavalier mics offer narrower, feedback-resistant pickup patterns for louder events. The discrete MX153 sub-miniature earset mic provides exceptional clarity in spoken word applications, and the PGA31 is a comfortable, durable headset microphone for active performance. The QLXD2 handheld transmitter is available with several mic capsule choices for users who prefer the flexibility of a handheld microphone.

Remote Control and Networking: The system is equipped with Ethernet networking capabilities, allowing real-time, precision monitoring, and control via Shure's Wireless Workbench (WWB) software for Mac/Windows. It is compatible with external controllers such as AMX and Creston, and remote adjustments can be made via the ShurePlus Channels Mobile App for iOS devices.
