Panasonic's Direct Drive System further enhances PTZ responsiveness while maintaining quiet operation, making the camera suitable for environments where both image quality and low operating noise are important.
1/2.5" 4K MOS Sensor
The AW-UE40W features a 1/2.5" 4K MOS image sensor designed to capture detailed video for professional communication and production applications.
Its 4K imaging capabilities provide the resolution needed for online events, presentations, lectures, worship services, corporate meetings, and other applications where high-quality video is essential.
UHD 4K30 Video
The camera supports video resolutions up to UHD 4K at 30 fps, providing detailed images for professional AV and streaming workflows.
Support for simultaneous UHD 4K and HD output provides additional flexibility when different destinations or production systems require different video formats.
Powerful 24x Optical Zoom
A 24x optical zoom provides substantial reach for capturing distant presenters, speakers, instructors, performers, and other subjects.
This extended zoom capability allows the AW-UE40W to move from wide establishing shots to detailed close-ups without requiring physical camera repositioning.
Intelligent Zoom
In addition to its 24x optical zoom, the AW-UE40W provides extended iZoom capabilities for greater subject magnification.
The camera supports:
- Up to 28x iZoom in UHD
- Up to 36x iZoom in HD
This additional reach can be particularly valuable in larger classrooms, auditoriums, houses of worship, conference facilities, and event spaces.
Wide 74.1° Horizontal Viewing Angle
A wide 74.1° horizontal angle of view allows the AW-UE40W to capture more of a room when operating at its widest setting.
The combination of wide-angle coverage and powerful zoom provides flexibility for both group shots and tightly framed individual subjects.
Direct Drive PTZ System
The AW-UE40W incorporates Panasonic's Direct Drive System, designed to provide improved PTZ responsiveness while maintaining quiet operation.
Smooth and quiet movement is especially valuable during live productions, lectures, worship services, meetings, and other environments where camera operating noise could become distracting.
Quiet Camera Operation
Low operating noise allows the AW-UE40W to be positioned closer to presenters, instructors, speakers, and meeting participants.
This makes it particularly well suited for environments where unobtrusive camera operation is important.
HDMI Video Output
Integrated HDMI 1.4 output provides convenient connectivity with compatible displays, video switchers, recorders, capture systems, and other AV equipment.
HDMI connectivity makes the AW-UE40W easy to incorporate into a variety of conventional professional video systems.
USB Video Output
USB connectivity provides another option for integrating the camera into computer-based video and communication workflows.
This makes the AW-UE40W suitable for applications involving online conferencing, streaming, education, presentations, and remote collaboration.
Professional IP Video
The AW-UE40W supports IP video transmission, allowing video to be incorporated into network-based AV and production environments.
IP connectivity can simplify system design while providing greater flexibility in installations where cameras and production equipment are distributed throughout a facility.
NDI|HX Version 2 Support
Support for NDI|HX Version 2 allows the AW-UE40W to integrate with compatible NDI-based video production environments.
Network-based video transport can help reduce conventional point-to-point cabling while enabling flexible routing between compatible production devices.

- USB control
- RS-422 control
These options allow the camera to accommodate different professional AV infrastructures and remote-production requirements.
