The transmitter's adjustable input sensitivity accommodates a range of vocal volumes, from loud voices to soft speech. Frequency and power lockout functions prevent accidental changes during events. A backlit LCD with an intuitive menu and controls provides quick access to frequency, group, and channel settings, as well as mute and lock status, and RF output. The selectable RF output power of 1 mW or 10 mW allows for either extended range or the operation of more microphones simultaneously.

The QLXD2/B58A runs up to 9 hours on two AA batteries. The optional Shure SB900A lithium-ion rechargeable battery pack offers intelligent power management with over 10 hours of battery life, precise metering in hours and minutes, and no memory effect. External charging contacts facilitate docked charging with the SBC200 dual-docking charger (sold separately). Additionally, the networkable SBC220 charger (sold separately) enables remote power monitoring via Shure’s Wireless Workbench software.
