The Shure PGXD4-X8 is a compact wireless receiver designed to be used with the PGXD1 bodypack and PGXD2 handheld transmitters. It is part of the PGX-D digital system, which delivers exceptional audio quality with its 24-bit / 48 kHz digital audio technology, all bundled in an affordable and reliable package that is user-friendly. The tabletop receiver is lightweight and highly portable, making it an ideal choice for professionals who are frequently on the move, such as presenters, lecturers, fitness instructors, performers, and DJs. It is particularly well-suited for small venues like weddings, houses of worship, classrooms, offices, and conference spaces, where its versatility shines through.

The PGX-D Digital systems function within the 900 MHz band, providing a substantial distance from potential sources of interference such as TV and cell phone signals. The receiver is equipped with true digital diversity, employing two fixed external antennas and two separate receiver circuits. This configuration ensures a robust and consistent transmission, even at considerable distances of up to 200 feet in clear line-of-sight conditions.

Operating the system is straightforward. With the press of a button, the Scan function initiates a search within the receiver to find a clear and optimal frequency for transmission. By pressing the Sync button, the receiver and transmitter (which can be obtained separately) synchronize effortlessly using infrared ports, ensuring they are locked onto the same channel. That's all it takes to get up and running smoothly. In the event that the RF environment experiences changes resulting in interference, a simple process of rescanning and resyncing allows you to swiftly switch to a new clean frequency. Notably, up to 5 wireless microphones can operate simultaneously within the same space, providing flexibility and convenience for various audio setups.
